I’ve always struggled with drawing caricatures, but after re-listening to a lot of the Ricky Gervais podcasts featuring Steve Merchant and the incredible Karl Pilkington, I decided to try drawing the round-headed monkey man.

Corel Painter Splash Screen Illustration

Corel Painter is my go-to program and has been for years now. Along with my trusted Wacom Cintiq 21UX, it’s wha I work with every day.

Above is a screen shot of their splash screen. There are illustrations that rotate through when people open the application and sometimes my own illustration “Gesundheit” pops up.

If I don’t feel great about my work somedays (which happens a lot it seems), it’s nice to see one of my illustrations like that inside my favorite piece of software.

Simpsons Character Self Portrait

Pixar announces release schedule through 2012

Digital Inking Movie Tutorial

Sometime ago I downloaded a bundle of software from macheist.com, which included a neat little app called Snapz Pro X. With that I can video-capture my screen while I draw, so I decided to give that a go.

This is a little sketch that I penciled, lettered and inked digitally in Corel Painter X on my Wacom Cintiq 21UX. Very simple, but it shows the process.
