Simpsons Character Self Portrait

Posted by Einar in Characters, Sketching, Drawing, Cartoons (April 23, 2008 at 10:06 am)
Simpson created character self portraitLet’s face it, most of us will never make it onto The Simpsons as a character on the actual show, so we might have to take matters into our own hands…

I created a quick self portrait this morning of what I, myself, might look like as a Simpson character.

Digital Inking Movie Tutorial

Posted by Einar in Corel Painter, Tutorial, Drawing, Sketching, Comic Strips, Digital Art, Cartoons, Movies, Art, Comics (March 24, 2008 at 9:07 am)

Sometime ago I downloaded a bundle of software from macheist.com, which included a neat little app called Snapz Pro X. With that I can video-capture my screen while I draw, so I decided to give that a go.

This is a little sketch that I penciled, lettered and inked digitally in Corel Painter X on my Wacom Cintiq 21UX. Very simple, but it shows the process.

“The Pearce Sisters” by Aardman Animation

Posted by Einar in Film, Movies, Cartoons (February 18, 2008 at 11:54 am)

The Pearce Sisters Aardman animation 2D 3D short filmAardman Animation is perhaps best know for its brilliant Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit movies, but here’s a little nugget that’s just as amazing, but very, very different. The Pearce Sisters short film, with its mix of 2D and 3D animation, is perhaps somewhat disturbing, but also stunning both in story, visuals and sound.

It should be noted that the movie is not suitable to children.

Fired Over “Dilbert” Comic Strip

Posted by Einar in Comic Strips, Cartoons (December 19, 2007 at 10:00 pm)

A Fort Madison man who posted a “Dilbert” comic strip on an office bulletin board has lost his job for implying his bosses were a bunch of “drunken lemurs.”

Scott Adams, “Dilbert” creator, responds:

“Most ‘Dilbert’ comics don’t come right out and call management a bunch of drunken lemurs,” Adams said. “So I can see how this one might have been a tad over the line.”

The Chase Sketch Book drawing inked inking faber castell pitt

I have no idea who these cartoon people are or where they came from, they just sort of appeared in my sketch book this evening…

As usual, the sketch is done using the Faber-Castell PITT brush pen and just inked straight with no pencil drawing underneath.
